BMW will offer a production version of its Vision EfficientDynamics in 2013. It will be available in a limited series of a maximum of 10,000 units and will provide the same technical specifications that they announced for the concept of this unique hybrid.

A source within the company confirmed that BMW Vision EfficientDynamics will enter series production in 2013. The model will be built in up to 10,000 copies and would be sold to a restricted public. Unlike the concept presented in 2009, production version of this hybrid will have a more solid structure, by replacement of the glass fibers with conventional materials.

BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept is equipped with a turbo three-cylinder and two electric motors. It offers a total power of 356 hp and a maximum torque of 800 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is accomplished in just 4.8 seconds and its top speed is electronically limited at 250 km/h. Despite these dynamic capabilities to a particular hybrid, Vision EfficientDynamics consume only 3.76 liters per 100 kilometers and emits 99 grams of CO2 per kilometer. Fortunately for BMW customers that will be able to buy this new model, the train propulsion of this model will bring the performances of concept announced in production.
